Writing teacher, coach, and editor supporting weird* fiction writers just like you!
|
* For "weird," read nerdy, queer, neurodivergent, genre-crossing, or otherwise uniquely fantastic.
Are you looking for help from an expert who's direct, enthusiastic, and kind? Someone committed to inclusive storytelling and to your unique vision? Let's connect about your project and how I can help. I know my way around narrative techniques, the writing process, and writers' pain points after decades of professional experience with stories. Inclusive romance fiction is my extra-special happy place. |
what's on offer
Writing lessons and story coaching: Ongoing, one-on-one support for fiction writers with a variety of needs and goals. Find out more at my Coaching page.
Sentence-level editing: Help ensuring clear, consistent, correct, inclusive, audience-appropriate language, with an emphasis on author voice. I especially love working with queer and inclusive romance, fantasy, interactive fiction, and fiction that crosses genre lines, but I am always discovering new areas of interest too! Find out more at my Line and Copyediting page.
Story-level editing: An informed and empathetic perspective on what’s working, what needs attention, and how you might go about making your novel its very best self—at the big-picture level of plot, structure, conflict, character arc, point of view, pacing, theme, worldbuilding, and genre. Specializing in romance; inquire about other genres (including fantasy and YA) if interested. Find out more at my Developmental Editing and Manuscript Feedback pages.
Story planning feedback: A fresh perspective and expert feedback on planning documents such as synopses and outlines, for writers who want to get a strong start or who feel stuck midway. Find out more at my Idea Development page.
Events and groups for writers: Online gatherings including writing groups, conferences, and classes, all designed to help you connect with fellow writers in mutual support and make progress in your writing. These spaces center kindness (to each other but most of all to our creative selves) and inclusion. Find out more at my Community, Support, and Learning Opportunities for Writers page.

editorial philosophy
I aim to support creators in realizing their particular visions and growing in their craft—and to advocate for readers through a commitment to inclusive language and storytelling. I value direct communication, understand the trust involved in exposing writing to critical eyes, and am ready to cheerlead your vision while we collaborate to make it shine!
