Prompted Writing Sessions
A protected bubble of writing time where you can play, focus, and just ... write!
This online prompted writing group is great for writers who crave a bit of structure with built-in flexibility, who struggle to give themselves time to write, who forget to play and be silly and messy, and/or who feel stuck, bogged down, overwhelmed, or way too in their own heads. Come play with us in a no-pressure, low-stakes, writing-forward, inspiration-rich space!

A typical session will include:
- a brief initial freewrite to help us get grounded in the moment
- three creative writing prompts to inspire, delight, and challenge your writer brain during timed writing sprints
- a brief sensory and movement break around halfway through
- a final brief freewrite to cap off the hour
As a participant, you will be welcome to:
- be on or off camera as you please
- use the prompts that work for you and modify, reinterpret, or ignore any that don’t
- play around in prose fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, or whatever you want
- mute me and stay in the session if you’re in flow and don’t want to hear new prompts (which will also be onscreen if and when you want to dip back in)
- pop in late, leave early, or step away for a bit in the middle if your life (or day) demands it. Just stay on mute to avoid disrupting others' focus (you can always say hi or bye in the chat!).
Alternatively, feel free to use some or all of our sessions as structured writing sprints, disregarding the prompts and simply writing forward in your current project.
